Under bright spring skies, participants teed off with enthusiasm on the lush fairways, each swing embodying the Lions’ spirit: “Where there’s a need, there’s a Lion.” The event transformed a love for golf into acts of kindness, raising vital funds for programs supporting Women and Children’s Health, Sports for All, New Migrant Support, and Community Assistance Projects.

CHANGEOVER CEREMONY AND CHARITY DINNER

As the day transitioned into evening, the 2025–2026 Changeover Ceremony and Charity Dinner commenced, providing a fitting conclusion to a day dedicated to achievement and altruism. Distinguished guests witnessed the official handover of leadership, while heartfelt speeches, charity auctions, and donations carried forward the day’s energy into a night of celebration. The evening captured the theme: “Serving with Heart, Connecting through Golf.”

— RECOGNISING EXCELLENCE AND SERVICE

The tournament featured multiple award categories, including Gross and Net Champions, Runners-up, and Nearest to the Pin, recognising outstanding performances. Beyond competition, the event highlighted the Lions’ core values of friendship, unity, and service to others.

During the Charity Dinner, the 2025–2026 Board of Directors was officially inaugurated. Outgoing President Josephine Chan hosted the handover, while incoming President Weijia Tang expressed gratitude for the dedication of past leaders and pledged to continue leading under the Lions’ principles of Service, Leadership, and Fellowship.

The Hon. Bruce Atkinson, former President of the Victorian Legislative Council, delivered an inspiring address, congratulating the new board and recognising the Lions Club of Melbourne Ausina’s long-standing contributions to community service and cultural exchange. Representatives from Pallas Capital, including Ms. Esther Fang, Mr. Craig Bannister, Ms. Sarah Vaughan, and Mr. David Wang, reaffirmed their commitment to supporting the Lions’ mission and strengthening community impact through collaboration.

CELEBRATING COMMUNITY IMPACT

The highlight of the evening was the award presentation and charity auction, filling the venue with applause, laughter, and generosity. Participants and guests contributed enthusiastically, with proceeds directed toward youth development, health services, and social welfare initiatives.

Sponsorship Appreciation Certificates were presented to all sponsors and contributors, acknowledging their invaluable support. Their dedication continues to enhance the Lions Club’s ability to make a meaningful impact across community projects.

CONTINUING THE SPIRIT OF “WE SERVE”

The 8th Golf Charity Tournament demonstrated once again the Lions Club of Melbourne Ausina’s commitment to combining sport with service. Beyond fostering camaraderie among members and participants, the event reaffirmed the Lions’ enduring pledge to its motto: “We Serve.”

As the newly inaugurated Board begins its 2025–2026 term, the Lions Club of Melbourne Ausina remains devoted to advancing charitable causes, nurturing community connections, and inspiring others to join in the pursuit of service excellence.
